Veliye Martı’nın “Kıbrıs Sandık Motifleri Yazma Kalıpları Sergisi”, KKTC Cumhurbaşkanı Ersin Tatar tarafından Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi Atatürk Kültür ve Kongre Merkezi Sergi Salonu’nda açılacak

Kıbrıs’ın önemli kültürel sembollerinden sandık motiflerini, tasarladığı yazmalarla bugüne taşıyan Veliye Martı’nın hazırladığı “Kıbrıs Sandık Motifleri Yazma Kalıpları Sergisi”, Cumhurbaşkanı Ersin Tatar tarafından, 2 Ağustos Pazartesi günü, Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi Atatürk Kültür ve Kongre Merkezi Sergi Salonu’nda açılacak.

Kıbrıs Modern Sanat Müzesi’nin ev sahipliğinde düzenlenen 377’inci sergi olma özelliği taşıyan “Kıbrıs Sandık Motifleri Yazma Kalıpları Sergisi” 15 Ağustos’a kadar ziyarete açık olacak. Veliye Marti’nın Kıbrıs sandıklarından çıkardığı motifleri gözler önüne serecek sergide, bu motiflerin geleneksel yazmalara işlenmesini sağlayan kalıp çalışmaları da sanatseverlerle buluşacak.

Baf’ta geometrik desenler, Lapta’da asma bitkiler…

Coğrafi konumu nedeniyle pek çok kültürden etkilenen Kıbrıs’ta pek çok kültürün harmanlanıp yayıldığını söyleyen Sanatçı Velide Martı, “Zengin bir motif çeşitliliğine sahip Kıbrıs Sandıkları, birkaç istisna dışında anonim olup kimin tarafından yapıldığı bilinmiyor. Üzerinde ne yapanın adı, ne de bir tarih bulunuyor. Ustaların nasırlı ellerinin, yorgun ama coşkulu yüreklerinin enerjisini taşıyan bu sandıkların üzerindeki desenler bölgelere göre farklılık gösterdiğinden bugün yapıldığı bölgelerin ismiyle anılıyor. Örneğin Baf sandıklarında geometrik desenler kullanılırken Laptalı ustalar sandıklarında Roma kemerleri ve asma bitkileri kullanmıştır” ifadesini kullandı.

Veliye Martı kimdir?

Yazmacılık sanatını koruyan ve yaşatan en önemli isimlerden biri olarak öne çıkan Veliye Martı, Trabzon’da doğdu. Yazmacılıkla, 1990’da bu sanatın çağdaş temsilcisi olan hocası Mehmet Hamdi Eyüboğlu’nun atölyesinde tanıştı. Eyüboğlu atölyesinde çalıştığı süre içerisinde ustası Eyüboğlu’nun sergi küratörlüğünü de üstlendi. Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde açılan yazma sergilerinin de küratörlüğünü yaptı. Sergilerinde Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu’nun motiflerini kullanarak tasarladığı ipek giysiler de yer aldı. Eyüboğlu atölyesinde baskı ve tasarım tekniklerini öğrendikten sonra geleneksel yazmacılığı araştırmak ve sanatına gelenekten gelen çağdaş bir kimlik kazandırmak isteyen Martı, geleneksel motiflerin peşinde Anadolu yollarına düştü. Yazmacılıkta önemli bölgelerde çalışmalar ve incelemeler yaptı. Üç yıl süren bir zaman diliminde değişik dönemlerde usta-çırak geleneğine uygun olarak çalışarak Tokat’ın önemli ustalarından Hüseyin Er ve Ömer Gıcık ustalardan el aldı.

2002’de Kadıköy’de Martı Yazma Atölyesi’ni kurdu. 2004’te TESVA’nın (Türk El Sanatları Vakfı) katkılarıyla Martı Yazma Atölyesi’ni Sultanahmet Küçük Ayasofya bölgesine taşıdı. 2007’de K.K.T.C. Kültür Bakanlığı’nın daveti üzerine Lefkoşa, Girne ve Gazimağusa Meslek liselerinde seminerler verdi. 2010’da İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyesi’nin “AB LEARNING-Tarihi Merkezlerde Yaratıcılık ve Girişimciliğin Gelişimi İçin İş İnkübatörleri” projesi kapsamında “Ağaç Kalıp Oyma ve Yazmacılık” üzerine kurs verdi. 2012’de Lefkoşa’da Kıbrıs Sandık Motifleri isimli ilk kişisel sergisini açtı. 2012-2013 yıllarında AB (Avrupa Birliği) destekli Şile Kadın Toplum Merkezi’nde 160 saatlik “Geleneksel Yazmacılık” eğitimi verdi. 2015’te Sahi-İstanbul sponsorluğunda İstanbul-Tünel Adahan Galeri’de “Anadolu’da Kadının İzi” sergisini açtı. Halen Küçük Ayasofya’daki atölyesinde proje, eğitim ve araştırma çalışmalarını sürdürüyor.

The “Cyprus Chest Motifs Writing Patterns Exhibition”, prepared by Veliye Martı, who carries the chest motifs, one of the important cultural symbols of Cyprus, to the present with the writings she designed, will be opened by President Ersin Tatar on Monday, 2 August at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall. .

Being the 377th exhibition hosted by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, the “Cyprus Chest Motifs Writing Patterns Exhibition” will be open to visitors until 15 August. In the exhibition, which will reveal the motifs that Veliye Marti has removed from the Cyprus chests, the mold works that enable these motifs to be processed into traditional manuscripts will also meet with art lovers.

Stating that many cultures are blended and spread in Cyprus, which is affected by many cultures due to its geographical location, Artist Velide Martı said, “Cyprus Chests, which have a rich variety of motifs, are anonymous, with a few exceptions, and it is not known by whom they were made. There is neither the name of the person who made it nor a date on it. Carrying the energy of the calloused hands and tired but enthusiastic hearts of the masters, the patterns on these chests differ according to the regions, so today they are referred to by the names of the regions where they were made. For example, while geometric patterns were used in Paphos chests, the craftsmen from Lapta used Roman arches and hanging plants in their chests.”

Who is Veliye Martı?

Veliye Martı, who stands out as one of the most important names that preserves and sustains the art of printmaking, was born in Trabzon. He met writing in the workshop of his teacher Mehmet Hamdi Eyüboğlu, who is the contemporary representative of this art, in 1990. While working at Eyüboğlu workshop, he also curated the exhibition of his master Eyüboğlu. He also curated the writing exhibitions held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Silk garments designed using the motifs of Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu were also included in his exhibitions. After learning printing and design techniques in Eyüboğlu’s workshop, Martı wanted to research traditional handwriting and give her art a contemporary identity that comes from tradition, and set off on Anatolian roads in pursuit of traditional motifs. He carried out studies and examinations in important regions in the printing industry. Working in accordance with the master-apprentice tradition in different periods in a period of three years, Hüseyin Er and Ömer Gıcık, who are among the important masters of Tokat, took their hand from the masters.

In 2002, he founded the Seagull Writing Workshop in Kadıköy. In 2004, with the contributions of TESVA (Turkish Handicrafts Foundation), he moved the Seagull Writing Workshop to the Sultanahmet Little Hagia Sophia region. In 2007, K.K.T.C. Upon the invitation of the Ministry of Culture, he gave seminars in Nicosia, Girne and Famagusta Vocational High Schools. In 2010, he gave a course on “Wood Mold Carving and Writing” within the scope of the “EU LEARNING-Business Incubators for the Development of Creativity and Entrepreneurship in Historical Centers” project of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. In 2012, she opened her first solo exhibition, Cyprus Chest Motifs, in Nicosia. She gave 160 hours of “Traditional Writing” training at the EU (European Union) supported Şile Women’s Community Center in 2012-2013. In 2015, she opened the exhibition “Traces of Women in Anatolia” at Istanbul-Tünel Adahan Gallery under the sponsorship of Sahi-Istanbul. She still continues her project, education and research studies in her workshop in Küçük Hagia Sophia.
